Nova Scotia In Canada Ban The Sale Of Flavoured Vape Products

It's finally happened the first Canadian
province to ban vaping has been
announced before we get into the details
make sure you subscribe to the vape meet
official YouTube channel and don't
forget to hit that notification bell now
let's see what's going on in Nova Scotia
on December 5th Nova Scotia's Health
Minister Randy DeLorean ounce that the
provinces banned the sale of flavored
vape products and the changes will be
effective as of April 1st 2020 according
to Delory the move was in response to
the growth of youth vaping in the province
commenting on the ban he said this is
not just about reducing vape access in
use but it's also a means to stem
potential transfers into traditional tobacco usage as well
studies have shown since the rise of
vaping smoking rates have dramatically
decreased this also includes positive
perceptions of tobacco use meaning that
because of vaping the risk for youth
smoking is at an all-time low
a recent study conducted by smoke-free
nova scotia suggested that 95 percent of
young Nova Scotians who vape prefer
flavored e liquids and 48% of those
surveyed said they would quit if flavors
were banned this information is clearly
being used to justify their agenda if
the same survey was given to adults the
results would be extremely similar as
it's been shown time and time again now
that adults also prefer flavor vape
products other users credit flavored
vaping with helping them quit regular cigarettes
I was a pack-a-day smoker and I feel
much better more energetic I can breathe
along with the banner plans to roll out
a public education program as well as
additional legislation on vaping no
further information was provided but the
Lory said he's taken note of what other
provinces have done so far I can only
imagine the Salif to things we've seen
already like a ban on advertising and
possibly raising the minimum age to
purchase vape products to add on to this
the following day on December 6th Nova
Scotia Finance Minister Karen Casey said
the ban will also apply to flavored
cannabis bay products that are due to be
available legally in the coming months
I'm all for being against minors vaping
but the way Nova Scotia is handling this
situation is totally wrong in my opinion
rather than taking a progressive
approach that targets youth while still
allowing adults to access the products
they need they're completely removing
the less harmful option we've seen
firsthand in the u.s. what a ban on
flavored products does vapors go back to
smoking vape shops go out of business
and a black market takes their place I'm amazed that even now in
19 the government can't understand that bands don't work
the only real upside for the province at
the moment is that the band won't be
effective until April I hope we see some
changes in legislation before then or a
federal move that's more progressive
